The Passive House Institute US (PHIUS) is a 501(c)3 organization that provides research, technical standards, training, certification and design tools to the sustainable design field. Being a certified Passive House consulting firm, Alfa has committed itself to excellence in design by following the Passive House energy performance criteria. The Building Energy Standard promoted by PHIUS is the most rigorous building energy standard in the world; specifically, Passive House buildings are estimated to cut energy consumption by 60-80 percent compared to code buildings, and certified passive buildings provide superior comfort, indoor air quality, and resilience. Alfa strives to follow these building guidelines to further promote sustainable design.
