A Note from CEO and Founder Chen Shalita
As we reflect on the past year, it is impossible to ignore the unprecedented challenges Israel has faced. Our nation is enduring one of its most difficult periods, with ongoing turmoil, the tragic loss of so many lives, and the unbearable reality of hostages still in captivity. These times test us as a society, but they also remind us of the resilience and strength we must summon to move forward.
While we grappled with these challenges, we didn’t stop our journey for one day !
This year, the global dialogue on climate change reached a critical juncture. At COP29, world leaders forged a historic agreement to establish a Global Carbon Pricing Framework—a step that promises to standardize emissions accountability across nations.
In parallel, regulations such as the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which mandates emissions reporting for large companies operating in the EU, came into effect, reshaping the way businesses approach sustainability.
These developments underscore a profound truth: the climate crisis does not pause for geopolitical challenges. The world is pushing forward with measurable, enforceable actions to combat greenhouse gas emissions.
Leading by Example: Alfa’s Net Zero Initiative
Here at Alfa, this has been another year of achievements. Our own Net Zero Alfa Campus is now certified to ZERO Carbon by ILFI and GNFZ, the first in the country and amongst the first in the world. We demonstrated our commitment to the global movement by hosting the Zero Carbon annual Meetup. The event brought together industry leaders and experts to discuss practical solutions for reducing carbon emissions in existing buildings. One of the highlights was the collaborative roundtable discussions, which helped shape our comprehensive guide to reducing operational carbon emissions.
The global trends are clear. Measuring, reporting, and planning for emissions reduction is no longer optional—it’s essential, especially for Israel’s export-oriented economy, which is deeply interconnected with international markets. The implications for businesses are significant, and the time to act is now.
At Alfa, we encourage our clients to adapt the change and join this journey. Whether it’s starting your first carbon footprint assessment, navigating global regulations, or implementing actionable strategies, our team is ready to lead you through this process.
Explore our Carbon Reduction Guide to learn more about how to reduce emissions in your buildings and prepare for the future. Together, we can create a more sustainable and resilient future for Israel and the world.
And on a personal note- I want to wish you all- clients, friends and colleagues, a happy and successful 2025, may this year bring with it health and happiness, and tangible achievements towards a sustainable future.
Yours,
Chen
