The National Library of Israel celebrates all those who partook in the design and construction of their new building. Alfa is proud to be apart of the LEED v3 NC Platinum certification.
This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and vision of the Library’s leadership, staff, and partners involved in this new landmark in Jerusalem. By achieving LEEDv3 NC Platinum certification, the National Library of Israel has demonstrated its commitment to environmental sustainability and leadership in the global effort to address climate change.
The NLI building includes many unique green building elements (some of them are highlighted in the graphic below)- including a massive skylight encircled by photovoltaic panels-allowing daylight in to the main hall and producing renewable energy. There is also a one-of-a-kind rockstore built from the excavated Jerusalem stones on the site to pre-cool incoming air to the building significantly saving cooling costs for the building in the hot summer months.
We applaud the National Library of Israel on this significant accomplishment and look forward to seeing the positive impact that this building will continue to have on the community and the environment for years to come
