Amot Atrium
A high-end office building in the Diamond Exchange district of Ramat Gan — LEED Platinum
Achievements
Pioneering double-skin façade for hot climate (natural-ventilation cooling)
100% of irrigation from recycled cooling tower bleed water
Background
Amot Atrium is a high-end office building in the Diamond Exchange district of Ramat Gan.
Approach
Advanced double-skin façade: a unique curtain-wall system developed jointly by architect Moshe Zur, manufacturer Aluminum Construction, and Alfa, improving SHGC and U-values. A pioneer in hot climates, it cools the envelope mainly via natural ventilation with an automatic mechanical fan for auxiliary ventilation in extreme heat. Tenants integrate occupancy sensors that switch off lighting and HVAC when spaces are unoccupied.
Methods
Water conservation: advanced water-saving fixtures, plus 100% irrigation provided from cooling tower bleed. Solar PV roof and high-reflectivity surfaces cut heat-island effect.
The first LEED v4 Platinum tower in Israel and the first double skin facade in a hot middle east climate.
